Michelle McIlroy

Michelle grew up wanting to do and be everything creative. There were never enough colouring pencils, paint, paper, fabric or camera film – and this passion has continued into her professional life.

She studied interior design in Christchurch before moving to London to work at The Conran Shop. Here the focus was on furniture design, with an elite clientele and with some of the most imaginative and inspiring interior innovators From there she moved to cult design store Aram (a London design mecca since 1964) where she was able to fine tune her tastes in modern furniture, art and the core concepts behind interior design – all under the guiding hand of the Aram family.

This also provided her with the opportunity to work with various designers, artists and architects either creating one off pieces or collaborating with the overall design.

Michelles interiors are deeply informed and influenced by colour and light, this stems from a process that is rife with ideas and feeling. Already multi disciplinary in the use of colour, design, light and abstract form, Michelle went on to complete tertiary-level papers in residential architecture.

This aided her to develop skills in physicality and intimacy within the structural compositions of buildings, utilising Cad based design and strategic problem solving.

Her drive is to create beautifully interactive spaces that both heal and inspire her clients.
